One Teacher One Laptop: Two Teacher Unions File A Lawsuit Against K.A Technologies, GES & Others
A press statement by National Executives of INNOVATIVE TEACHERS and All Teachers Alliance Ghana (ATAG) dated 12th November, 2021 sighted by Honestynewgh would like to bring to the attention of the press and teachers that a suit has been filed at the Acra High Court.
Accordingto the released statement;
1. The suit is questioning the legal capacity of K.A TECHNOLOGIES GHANA LIMITED and the contract that was given to same by the
Defendants herein to manufacture laptops under the “one teacher one laptop’ initiative.
2. INNOVATIVE TEACHERS and All Teachers Alliance Ghana are the first and second plaintiffs respectively.
3. The Defendants in the suit are
1.KA TECHNOLOGIES GHANA LIMITED
2.The Attoney General
3. Ghana Education Service
4. Ministry of Education
Again, “it is instructive to note that INNOVATIVE TEACHERS was registered as a TRADE UNION by the Chief Labour Officer in accordance with the Labour Law 2003(Act 651) on 30th July, 2012”, the release stated.
5. All Teachers Alliance Ghana (ATAG) was registered as a TRADE UNION by the Chief Labour Oficer in accordance with the Labour Law 2003(Act 651)
“Details of the suit will be communicated when the need arises” the release added.
