The National Teaching Council (NTC) has revealed its plan of rescheduling the date for the portfolio assessment and as well, organizing orientation for newly trained teachers on what the new initiative; portfolio assessment is all about.
The Initial date for the portfolio assessment was scheduled to take place in August. However, scores of newly trained teachers made complaints that they have no idea of what the portfolio assessment by NTC is all about.
This instigated the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) to visit the office of the National Teaching Council (NTC) over the issue.
According to the National Coordinator of TTAG, Joshua Owusu Yeboah, the leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana engaged the Director for Professional Development of Teachers, Mr. Lawrence Sarpong over the portfolio assessment. Their engagement led to the postponement of the initial date to second week of September. Per his explanation, the date is not fully settled on.
He further revealed that, there would be an orientation on the portfolio assessment before the NTC visitation on the assessment will take place.
Henceforth, all newly trained teachers are urged to be calm as the wait for the new schedule and also make time for the upcoming orientation which is yet to be organised.
