Leaders of teachers unions invited by GES to deliberate on their 10th August press statement issued
Leaders of three teacher unions, named Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and Coalition of Concern Teachers Ghana (CCT GH) have been invited by the Ghana Education Service on Friday, 20th August 2021 at exactly 8:am at the GES Headquarters in Accra.
The meeting is said to deliberate on the press statement released by the three teacher unions dated 10th August, 2021 and other related issues.
The said release by the teacher unions highlighted some top issues that the Ghana Education Service has to take a critical look at. These issues include;
✍️Teaching and learning resources
✍️Contract and working hours
✍️Upgrading of teachers
✍️Responsibility allowance
✍️Teachers promotion crisis
✍️Transfer of teachers etc.
Again, the release issued by the aforementioned unions gave the GES an ultimatum of up to September that if those issues are not resolved, they will resort to strike action.
