KNUST Student Murdered For Demanding Monies Owned Him By a Friend || Read Details
The Police Division in Ashanti Region has confirmed the murder of 21 year old Level 200 student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The body of the deceased, Kweku Adugyemfi was found at Sewuah New Site around 5:20pm Friday.
The Ashanti Regional PRO, ASP Godwin Ahianyo upon investigations has revealed that a Twenty-five year old Emmanuel Boateng, a tailor apprentice has been arrested and assisting police investigation.
However the father of the decease, Yaw Adugyemfi who was interviewed by the media uncovered that the son was murdered because of his iPhone.
Emmanuel who is a very good friend of Nana
Gyamfi told police that he owed the deceased some money and the deceased demanded he pays to enable him to prepare for school.
The Suspect claimed he could not raise the
money and therefore the only way out was to kill his friend.
He is said to have lured the deceased to the crime scene under the pretext that the mother had bought a plot of land and he had to take some pictures of the work ongoing at the site.
The deceased accompanied him to the place
to take the said pictures. When they got to what is now the crime scene, the suspect excused the deceased that he was attending nature’s call and asked the deceased to sit and wait for him.
Whilst the deceased sat and was unsuspectingly making a call, the suspect picked a stick which he had hidden in the bush and strike the deceased neck with the stick.
The deceased fell and fainted and the suspect subsequently picked the deceased phone and left the place.
However, luck eluded him because he was seen with the deceased Nana Gyamfi by some neighbours who informed the Police when Nana Gyamfi never came back home after he went out.
Emmanuel Boateng was picked up and after
interrogation confessed to the police of the
crime, his room was searched only to find the deceased’s iPhone 11.
