New Directive: No Exams For Some Basic Schools This Term || Read Details
Directives from the management of the Ghana Education Service at some Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts wishes to inform all Heads of school and teachers that there will be no “End of Term Examination”.
According to the management, exercises, class test, project work, homework and role play should be used to assess the students for the current term.
“Teachers are expected to use other means of assessment like class test, home work, group work, project work, role play etc to assess their pupils and get ready for vacation on the 7th of April, 2022”, the directive stated.
Some officers of the GES at the District / Municipal Level and teachers who spoke with Honestynewgh revealed that this unexpected directive has been issued due to some confusion on the side of the Yearly Academic Calendar Planning Committee of the GES and other co-curricular activities.
“The GES has on three occasions changed the academic calendar unbearably. This had made activity schedule in our schools very tough”, one officer stated.
Some Heads and teachers told Honestynewgh that they have already taken monies from their Pupils for the end of term exams and they have to either refund the monies or find their own means of conducting the exams for the pupils.
NOTE: All persons must note that this directive does not include all basic schools in the country.
