Director General Sends Message To All Graduates Awaiting Recruitment. Check Details
Ever since the financial clearance was released for the recruitment of Diploma Teachers, there have been some concerns by the graduate teachers from our various universities. University graduates are asking to know when the Ministry will take a similar steps to recruit them.
The Director General of Education, Prof Opoku Amankwah in an interview on UTV Ghana has sent a message which is somehow described as “Shocking” to all university graduates awaiting for Ghana Education Service (GES) to recruit them.
Responding to a question by the host, the Director General emphasised that GES only recruit graduates into the service only when there are specific vacancies.
“Graduates can still do something better for themselves even without GES recruitment. Things they have learnt can be applied on other fields and not only GES”, he blurted.
However, the Minister of Education, Dr Osei Adutwum early this year indicated that the service is hoping to receive clearance from the Finance Ministry to recruit the graduates.
“We last year petitioned the Ministry of Finance to increase the clearance for graduate teachers to be recruited in 2021 but it was agreed for only 16,850 newly trained teachers to be recruited and the graduates later this year”, he stated.
Meanwhile, the Director General has indicated that entrepreneurship has been added to the curriculum to help people apply what they have learnt during their hours on campus.
