Government may not be able to pay salaries in the next 3 months- Alban Bagbin
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has disclosed publicly that government may not be able to pay salaries in the next three months.
According to the speaker, government may struggle to honour some financial obligations in the next three months if critical measures are not taken.
“This is not to discourage the committee from doing their work. If something is not done within the next three months, the government may not be able to pay salaries.”
He made this revelation to members of Parliament on Thursday, 24th February, 2022.
Is is unclear what constitute the Speaker to make this pronouncement, however the citizens believe this is as a result of the ongoing consultation by the government to get the controversial E-Levy Bill passed.
Mr. Alban Bagbin has therefore urged the MPs to exhibit leadership towards argumenting the upcoming challenge in the renumeration.
“So we have to take leadership. We have to do a lot of things,” he said.
