NEWS IN: GES Has Officially Responded To Teacher Unions Concerns Over Academic Calendar For Basic Schools
The Ghana Education Service (GES) in a statement released has officially responded to the concerns of the Teacher Unions over the newly introduced academic calendar for public basic schools.
According to the release, Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken note of the concerns raised in the press releease by the Unions in Education about the new Academic Calendar and contact hours for schools.
The release added that the Ministerial Committee on Schools Calendar engaged representatives of the Unions and School Heads. However, they will continue to engage the Unions and other stakeholders if they have noted additional concens since the release of the calendar.
“Subsequently, Management has invited the Unions fo a meeting on Thursday, 20th
January, 2022 to discuss the additional issues raised” the release added.
Meanwhile, Management wishes to welcome back to school all basic school teachers, learners, and particularly, “My First Day at School learners.
GES wishes to assure parents, students, teachers and the general public that GES will
work closely with the Unions and other stakeholders to ensure that the 2022
Academic Calendar is not disrupted.
