JUST IN: WAEC issues strong warning; Dos / Don’ts and penalties regarding the conduct of 2021 WASSCE
Following the numerous misconducts and other examination malpractices popping up in the ongoing 2021 WASSCE, the examination council WAEC has issued new directives (Dos and Donts) regarding the conduct of the council’s examination.
Below are the new directives all candidates, teachers and the general public should take notice.
BRINGING IN FOREIGN MATERIALS
1. DO NOT bring into the Examination Hall any foreign material such as notes, textbooks, prepared materials, a blank piece of paper, the manual of a calculator or any other material which is intended to give undue advantage.
PENALTY- CANCELLATION OF SUBJECT RESULTS
DO NOT bring into the Examination Hall a
programmable calculator, mobile phone or any other electronic communication device.
PENALTY- CANCELLATION OF ENTIRE RESULTS
2. IRREGULAR ACTIVITIES INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE EXAMINATION HALL
DO NOT tear any part of your question paper/answer booklet or take your question paper/answer booklet outside the examination hall during the examination.
OBEY official orders to start/stop work.
REMEMBER to submit your script to the
Supervisor/Invigilator before leaving the
examination hall.
PENALTY-CANCELLATION OF sUBJECT RESULTS
DO NOT steal, covet or misappropriate the scripts of other candidates.
DO NOT substitute scripts during or after the examination.
DO NOT seek or receive assistance from supervisors, invigilators, teachers or other personalities during the examination.
PENALTY-CANCELLATION OF ENTIRE RESULTS
3. COLLUSION
DO NOT pass notes for help, receive or give assistance or collude in any manner with another person(s).
REMEMBER, collusion can be detected in your Script during marking.

4. IMPERSONATION
DO NOT Write the examination for another person or allow another person to write the examination for you.
REMEMBER, impersonation is an offence!
PENALTY-CANCELLATION OF ENTIRE RESULTS, BARRING OF CANDIDATE FROM TAKING ANY EXAMINATION CONDUCTED BY THE COUNCIL FOR NOT LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND PROSECUTION

5. INSULT/ ASAULT ON SUPERVISORS/ INVESTIGATORS AND INSPECTORS
DO NOT insult or assault the Supervisor/Invigilator inside or outside the Examination Hall.
DO NOT bring into the Examination Hall anything including chemical substances intended to cause injury to any person in the Examination Hall.
PENALTY – CANCELLATION OF ENTIRE RESULTS, BARRING OF CANDIDATE FROM TAKING ANY EXAMINATION CONDUCTED BY THE COUNCIL FOR NOT LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND PROSECUTION
6. LEAKAGE/MASS CHEATING
DO NOT involve yourself in the leakage of examination question papers.
REPORT any rumours of leakage or foreknowledge of question papers to your Headmaster/Headmistress or WAEC officials

7. INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
DO NOT Contravene the instructions to candidates and write with pencil instead of ink or shade with ink instead of pencil.
ALWAYS complete the cover page of your answer booklet as specified in the instructions.

8. MULTIPLE REGISTRATION
DO NOT be involved in multiple registrations for the same diet of examination.
