Subjects to Be Written – 2025 BECE for Private Candidates
Candidates sitting for the 2025 private BECE are expected to take the following core and elective subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Integrated Science
- Basic Design and Technology
- Religious and Moral Education
- Social Studies
- French
- Ghanaian Language
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Each of these subjects will consist of two parts:
Paper 1 – Multiple-choice questions
Paper 2 – Essay or structured questions.
It is important for both students and educators to familiarize themselves with these subjects and prepare adequately ahead of the exams.

WAEC has emphasized that all candidates must adhere to the time allocations specified on the official timetable, even if the durations listed on the exam papers differ. Each subject’s Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be written back-to-back within a single session.
