2022 Budget: Teachers & Nursing Trainees Allowances To Cost Government Over Ghc 400m – Report

According to the data from the 2022 budget preparation guideline documents, both Teachers and Nursing Trainees Allowances combines are expected to cost the government and the nation a projected amount of Ghc 401.1 million.

Of this amount, teacher trainee allowances  (Ghc169.9 million) for the period represent 42.4 percent while nursing trainee allowances (Ghc 231.2)  for the period represent 57.6 percent of the total projected allocation of Ghc 40l.1 million.

This means that the budgetary allocation for both teacher and nursing trainee allowances will represent over 0.3 per cent of the projected expenditure in 2022 since the Government in the 2022 budget has projected to spend a total of Ghc 128.3 billion with corresponding revenue generation of Ghc89.1 billion leaving a budget deficit of almost Ghc 40 billion.
